Find out about funding at fair

IS your group trying to source funding for a project that will benefit your community? Are you aware of what grants are currently available?

Banbridge District Council, in partnership with ABC Community Network and TADA Rural Support Network, is holding a funding fair in the Bannville House Hotel on Thursday 22 March at 7pm.

The fair will include a presentation by different funders on what grants they currently offer or will be offering in the near future. Following the presentation, groups will have an opportunity to discuss potential projects with funders on a one-to-one basis.

Council Community Development Officer Robert Stockley said: “The Council is aware that many groups in the district have excellent ideas for projects and sees this event as a great opportunity for groups to match those ideas with funding opportunities. While it is true that in this current economic climate funding is under pressure, some funders still have significant amounts of money available to help local groups deliver projects that will benefit their communities.”

Some of the funders who have committed to attending the event so far include The Big Lottery Fund, BBC Children In Need, Lloyds TSB Foundation, Down Rural Area Partnership, Building Community Pharmacy Partnership, John Moore’s Foundation and Banbridge District Council. Representatives of the PEACE III Southern Partnership will also be in attendance to outline the support they can offer groups.

The council has arranged this event as part of its ongoing support to local community groups. To register or to find out more about the event, contact the Council’s Leisure and Development Department on 4066 0605.
