Fine and points for Coleraine driver
A COLERAINE man who was speeding, appeared before North Antrim Magistrates' Court.
The court heard that on February 24 this year, police detected Jonathan Knox Lyons (24) of Ballylagan Road, travelling at 56 miles per hour along the Moyarget Road in Ballycastle,16mph in excess of the speed limit for that road.
When stopped by police he refused a fixed penalty notice.
Lyons told the officers that his girlfriend was a solicitor, and said that she ‘may be able to help’.
District Judge Archer fined Lyons 60 and gave him three penalty points.
