Fine and points for Portrush man

A PORTRUSH man has been fined for motoring offences.

Ryan Cunningham (19) of Girona Court was charged with failing to produce his licence and driving with no insurance.

North Antrim Magistrates’ Court heard that police stopped Cunningham on Circular Road on May 18.

He was unable to produce his driving documents at the time and elected to do so within seven days.

However police checks revealed that Cunningham failed to do so and was not insured.

Representing himself in court, Cunningham said that he was being ‘stupid’ and added: “I was going through a bad patch at the time.”

District Judge, Richard Wilson, fined the defendant 50 for not producing his driving licence and gave him a further 200 fine and six penalty points for driving without insurance.
