Fine and points for speeding in mum's car
While driving into Lurgan an 18-year-old man broke the speed limit in a 40mph zone and also in a 30mph zone.
Declan Duff, Elmwood Terrace, Lurgan, was fined £140 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for excess speed on May 17 this year. He was also given five penalty points. A fine of £90 was imposed for having a defective tyre on the vehicle.
The court heard that police travelling along the Portadown Road into Lurgan. The defendant drove at 60mph in the 40mph zone and 50mph in the 30mph zone.
A solicitor representing the defendant said that he was driving his mother’s car and was running late. He had learned his lesson.
