Fine for cannabis possession

A 25-year-old man was fined £100 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for unlawful possession of cannabis.

Lupa Lukas, whose address was given to the court as Fair Winds, Lurgan, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on March 27 this year he was found with a small amount of cannabis in his left trouser pocket.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said that his client had drink taken on this night.

Deputy District Judge Neil Rafferty said Lukas had a previous caution for a similar offence and warned him that if he came back to court again he would send him to jail.
