Fined £250 for being in possession of cannabis

A 26-year-old man was fined £250 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for unlawful possession of cannabis on November 16 this year.

Andrew Lucas, whose address was given as Churchill Park, Portadown, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that police saw the defendant and another male in the Churchill Park area of Portadown.

Lucas was in possession of cannabis and he said it was for his own use.

A barrister representing the defendant said he had no relevant record and at the time of the offence was an occasional user of cannabis.
