Fined for cannabis possession

He was 23-year-old Paul Robert Benson, Glenavon Crescent, Lurgan, and he admitted the offence.

The court heard he was stopped at Greenhill Park and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act. He handed over a small quantity of herbal cannabis which he said cost him approximately £10.

A barrister for the defendant said client was no longer using drugs.

District Judge, Mr Peter King, pointed out that Benson had been fined £150 on December 4 last year for possession and on December 17 he had thought it a good idea to buy a class B drug.
