A prosecuting lawyer said a missile struck the car. Police spoke to Jones but he refused to co-operate with them. When arrested, he resisted an officer.

Defending solicitor Mr Paddy Moriarty, said Jones, who has “an impeccable family background”, very much regretted what happened.

Mr Moriarty said Jones, who had a clear record, had been at a party in the town, and unfortunately, consumed too much alcohol, resulting in the offences.
