Fined for insurance offences after '˜misunderstanding'
A 33-year-old man was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on June 28 this year.
Gary Rowe, Ardboe Drive, Lurgan, was also given six points.
At the same court Helen Leavy (25), Ardboe Drive, Lurgan, was fined £250 for permitting him to drive without insurance. As well she was given six points.
Both defendants appeared in court and pleaded guilty.
The court heard that police in Francis Street in Lurgan saw Rowe driving a car and Leavy was in the passenger seat. They stopped the car on the Silverwood Road after checks revealed there was no insurance in place for the driver.
Leavy said it was a misunderstanding on her part.
