Fined for shouting in street

A LURGAN woman was fined £50 last Thursday at Craigavon court for disorderly behaviour on January 1 this year.

She was 43-year-old Elaine Pamela Campbell, of Mourneview Avenue, Lurgan.

The case had been listed as a contest but the defendant’s solicitor asked District Judge, Mr Alan White, to decide on the statements, saying it was a ‘borderline’ disorderly behaviour charge.

After reading the evidence Mr White convicted Campbell of disorderly behaviour saying she had been shouting abuse in the street.

The solicitor said that the defendant did realise she had a problem with drink.

Imposing the fine Mr White said it was New Year’s Eve and the defendant had too much to drink. It was at the bottom end of disorderly behaviour.
