Fined £60 for using mobile

A £60 fine was imposed on a 36-year-old man last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for a using his mobile phone while driving.

Paul Devlin, Windyridge, Banbridge, was also given three penalty points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard he was seen using the phone while driving in Summerhill estate Banbridge. He was offered a fixed penalty but his solicitor explained he had been working in London and had mislaid his licence. He had to apply for a replacement.
