Finlay calls on dog owners to clean up

DUP Alderman, John Finlay, has urged dog owners to accept their civic and legal responsibilities and ensure that they clean up after their dogs.

Alderman Finlay said: “As a member of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, I fully support

the Council’s zero tolerance approach to dog fouling, and I would remind people that anyone failing to clean up after their dog will receive a fixed penalty.

“Areas such as Balnamore and Riverside Park in Ballymoney and the Village of Cloughmills seem to be particularly badly affected at present, with resultant inconvenience and health and safety risks to members of the public. This has been reported to the dog warden, but I would urge dog owners to act in a mature and responsible manner when out walking their dogs. Think of others, and be sure to clean up any mess. Not only is it your civic responsibility, it is your legal duty”.
