Finlay welcome for new Magilligan jail
A BALLYMONEY councillor has welcomed the proposal to build a new jail at Magilligan.
Councillor John Finlay was speaking after a meeting of a Liaison Group comprising elected representatives from Ballymoney, Coleraine and Limavady Borough Councils along with council officials and representatives from the N.I. Prison Service and Department of Justice.
Following the first meeting and the announcement that the Justice Minister, David Ford, has revealed plans to build a new jail at Magilligan, Cllr. Finlay welcomed the decision saying he hoped it would keep jobs within the area.
