Fire at Fulton’s factory site

Firefighters were called to an incident at the former Fulton’s factory site at Ardboe Drive shortly after 10pm tonight (Saturday, July 11).

A pile of waste timber stacked by contractors who had demolished the factory was set alight, the fire was reported around 10.10pm.

A senior fire officer on scene told the ‘MAIL’ the timber had been deliberately ignited and stressed there were nio hazardous materials involved - all suich materials had been properly dealt with by licenced specialists during the demolition.

Two appliances attended the scene and were still on site at 11.50pm.
