Fire at house in Cookstown was ‘arson’

Police in Cookstown are appealing for information following the report of an arson that occurred in the Legnacash Road area, sometime between 9.30pm on Thursday 30 October and 9.45am on Friday 31 October.

It is believed that a lit item was thrown through a window of a house, causing considerable damage to the main room and several items in it.

A spokesperson for the NIFRS said they received a call at 12.14am and one appliance from Cookstown Fire Station attended the address.

Fire Crews dealt with rubbish on fire in an unoccupied house. The fire was out arrival and believed to be have been started deliberately.
