Fire at rear of Mid Ulster Hospital site being treated as ‘suspicious’

Police investigating a suspicious fire in Magherafelt on Monday 27th October are appealing for witnesses.

Sgt Sam Young explains: “A shed and portacabin to the rear of the Mid Ulster Hospital site on Hospital Road in the town were extensively damaged in the blaze which was reported to police at around 7.10pm.

“It is not yet known how the fire started however we believe the circumstances to be suspicious at this time.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who noticed any suspicious activity or anyone with any with information that could assist with the investigation. The number to call is 101.”
