Fire service and police commended
THE EFFORTS of local fire and police officers have been praised for their response to the emergency incidents in the borough recently, namely their handling of the Waveney Fire and flash flooding.
Speaking at last Monday’s meeting of Full council, the Mayor commended the hard work of both emergency services in reponse to these incidences.
Last month the old Laundry building at Waveney was completely destroyed by fire while Queen Street was completely flooded during torrential rain.
Alderman McAvoy said: “I would like to take this opportunity to convey thanks for their hard work and effective response.”
