Fire station to rise from the ashes

Mr McCallister said he has been working closely with the Northern Ireland Fire Service over the past number of months and receives regular updates on the works scheme.

The station, which was manned by part-time staff, burned down last August.

Mr McCallister said, "I have been in constant contact with the Fire Service since January 2010 and the latest update is that they have reached the final drafting stage of the Business Case.

“This has to be discussed at the next Board meeting. I am due another update at the beginning of October and will keep the pressure on for a re-opening date as this is a vital service for the community."
