Over 200 tickets have already been snapped up for the black tie event, which this time round is raising to raise money for two charities, Foyle Hospice and CLIC Sargent.

The evening will consist of a champagne reception, followed by a five-course meal, with entertainment provided by local band Portabello.

There will be a range of spot prizes throughout the evening, followed by a charity draw and auction.

Prizes include a weekend hotel stay in Scotland in conjunction with the City Hotel, signed jerseys from Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC and a signed Ulster Rugby top.

Fire-fighter Adrian Cooper from Northland Road Station said: “This is an opportunity for us to put on a great night and raise as much money as we can for the charities.”

His colleague Gavin Doherty said: “It has been a number of years since our last charity ball and again we are calling on the wonderful support that we received in the past to help raise much needed funds for these two causes. The last couple we did have been fantastic nights and at the last one alone we raised over £8,000. We have had great support from local businesses in the past and again this year.”

Tickets are now on sale at £55 and include free entry into the draw. Business are welcome to sponsor a table or donate a gift towards the prize draw and auction.
