Firewalkers brave scorching coals for playgroup fundraiser

THE Taghnevan Pre-School Playgroup commitee’s firewalk challenge was a scorching success on Friday evening, with around £1,500 raised.

Around 20 participants braved 20 feet of coals at a blistering temperature of 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit with help from firewalk specialists, Blaze.

The event was held at the Stables and commitee member Brendan Gallahue said: “The event was a success. Everyone had a good time.”

He added that the funds will go towards help purchasing anything the pre-school playgroup needs, like toys.

Brendan, who braved the firewalk himself - and like everyone else who took part - he received a certificate to say that he mastered the firewalk challenge.

Thanking everyone who came, Brendan revealed that the committee was hoping to have more fundraising events in the future.
