Firm fined for breaching waste management legislation

A Crumlin firm has been fined for breaching waste management legislation.

Ecopart (NI) Ltd of Long Rig Road and Mr Mark Gilmore (32) of Long Rig Road, Crumlin were fined a total of £1,200, plus £112 court costs, at Antrim Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 7.

Between January 2010 and January 2013, officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency investigated a site, owned by Ecopart (NI) Limited, on the Long Rig Road, Crumlin where a substantial quantity of End of Life vehicles were stored.

Mr Mark Gilmore pleaded guilty to one charge of depositing controlled waste and two charges of keeping controlled waste without holding the necessary waste management licence.
