Arborhill Ltd has permission to build a 100-bedroom hotel on the Hillsborough Road which was granted after a six year wait, in 2012.

Filings at Companies House suggest the firm also owns an industrial property in east Belfast.

The firm’s last set of accounts, for 2014, show it had assets of around £4m and liabilities of around £5m.

It had borrowing with the Bank of Ireland.

The firm was controlled by businessman Ken Cleland who is a board member of the Maze Long Kesh Development Corporation.

The four star multi million pound hotel with 100 bedrooms together with conference and leisure facilities, was to be across the river from the Premier Inn.

When the hotel was given the green light, the then Environment Minister Alex Attwood said, “This is great news for Lisburn given the economic and social benefits it will bring, including 200 new jobs. It will boost visitor numbers to the benefit of local shops.”
