First it was the roof - now ecos bridge needs replacement

Yet another major fault has been discovered at the ecos park on the outskirts of Ballymena.

It has already been revealed that the roof of the actual ecos centre needs replaced at a cost of £300,000 - just 15 years after it was built!

“After being contacted by a number of users of the public paths within the Ecos concerned at the closure of the bridge I enquired as to the reason and have been advised that following an inspection it was discovered that rot in the structure made it unsafe.

“Further investigations are required although at this stage it is likely a replacement bridge will be required.

“While the Ecos facility and grounds have yet to realise their full potential it is essential that accessibility is maintained and on that basis I would call on the council to move quickly to determine the best course of action and implement whatever measures are required.”
