First Lisburn is set to enjoy a busy Easter

First Lisburn Presbyterian Church will be bursting with Easter Eggs next week as they host the first ever ‘Lisburn Community Easter Eggsperience’

Amost 60 giant eggs have been decorated by church groups, community organisations, schools and businesses from across the city and they will be on display throughout Holy Week to mark, not only Easter, but also the reopening of the newly refurbished church on Easter Sunday.

With support from Lisburn City Council, the Tourism Board and Lisburn City Centre Management, the week long event is expected to draw thousands of people to the city centre to see the fantastic display of eggs in the church.

“Our reconfigured church means we can now do community events such as this,” explained Rev John Brackenridge, “The floor is clear for the displays and they will be arranged so that visitors can view each of the displays.

“The displays can promote a business, school or organisation or can take a theme, so long as it has a egg, of any sort, in it.”

The Lisburn Community Easter Eggsperience will be opened to the public by the Mayor and Moderator on Monday March 30 and runs until April 3.

Opening times are 10am until 5pm, with a late night viewing on the Thursday.

There is also a special contemporary Lisburn Community Easter Eggsperience Service on Sunday Paril 5 at 11am, which will be attended by the Mayor.

A service will alkso be held on Sunday April 5 at 6.30pm, when the Moderator will officially dedicate the refurbished church. A choir made up of members of churches from throughout Lisburn will also be taking part in the service.

Everyone will be made very welcome to both of the services.
