First Minister visits Turner Prize exhibition

First Minister the Rt Hon Peter D Robinson MLA has visited the Turner Prize 2013 exhibition in Londonderry.

The First Minister welcomed the opportunity to see the winning entry by French-born artist Laure Prouvost, along with the works of the other nominated artists Tino Seghal, David Shrigley and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.

After visiting the exhibition the First Minister Peter Robinson said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit the Turner Prize exhibition at Ebrington, which is notably, the first time that it has been held outside England.

“It is fantastic to be able to see an exhibition as prestigious as this in Londonderry and it provides further proof of Northern Ireland’s ability to deliver events of a global standing.

“The UK City of Culture celebrations have been a tremendous success and the Turner Prize has been one of the jewels in Londonderry’s crown in 2013.”

The exhibition is being staged at Ebrington and runs until 5 January 2014.
