First public meeting of Lisburn PCSP is held at Mount Eagles

THE first public meeting of the Lisburn Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) which was formed in May 2012, will take place on Tuesday 18 September 2012 in Mount Eagles Community Hall, Mount Eagles Drive, Lagmore, at 7pm.

The PCSP, which replaces the former District Policing Partnership and Community Safety Partnership, combines the functions of both Partnerships and provides a more joined up approach to the policing and community safety issues which affect local communities.

The meeting is being facilitated to enable local people to have their say on issues such as crime and anti-social behaviour and will be attended by the Area Commander and members of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. The Area Commander will present his report on policing of the area but will address local policing issues raised by members of the public in attendance.

Speaking about the forthcoming meeting, Chairman of the Lisburn PCSP, Councillor John Palmer said “This is our first public meeting and we encourage you to attend to speak to your local police about any policing concerns you have and also to hear about the local initiatives being undertaken by the police in partnership with the community.”

“Lisburn PCSP is now commencing a consultation exercise to find out what the policing and community safety priorities are for local people right across the City in order that resources can be put in the right place at the right time to address community safety concerns.

“This meeting will offer an opportunity for you to highlight the priority issues for your community.”
