Fitness NI members raise healthy sum for charity

FITNESS Northern Ireland's Newtownabbey Branch hosted this year's Fitness Northern Ireland Association Annual General Meeting last week.

The governing body’s AGM took place in Glengormley Pavilion, Carnmoney Road on Friday, May 7.

During the meeting, local branch representatives presented Lisa McGrogan from Macmillan Cancer Support with a cheque for 2,500. The money was raised at a Supper Dance held in Greenisland Golf Club last month.

Organisers of the event expressed their gratitude to local businesses that generously donated auction items for the fundraiser, including Corr’s Corner Hotel, The Royal Thai, Bureau, Dunadry and Stena.

Each year the Newtownabbey Branch selects a different charity and endeavours to raise as much money as possible throughout the year.
