Five new jobs at Cookstown company hired to make a table for Eastenders

A Cookstown furniture design and manufacturing company that has been commissioned by the BBC to make a coffee table for Eastenders, is creating five new jobs with support from InvestNI.

Zespoke Design, which was set up just two years ago, has already achieved international success with its retro and eye-catching pieces tailored to each customer.

Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell has commended the firm, which was founded by Paul Elliot, for its growth.

“Zespoke Design is an exciting business which is going from strength-to-strength,” he said. “This latest expansion to the company’s workforce is positive news for the Tyrone area and will help drive Zespoke’s continued success across the UK and Europe.

“I would also like to congratulate the company on their recent success in securing an order with BBC to supply a bespoke coffee table for the popular television show, EastEnders,” he added.

In April 2015 the company recruited eight new staff, and as a result of this latest expansion, now employs 13 people in Cookstown.

Paul Elliot, founder of Zespoke added: “We were delighted to secure the BBC contract and to find out our product would be used on such a high profile programme. Invest NI’s continued support is enabling us to focus on measures to drive traffic to our e-commerce website.”
