Five successfultourism grants

Tourism Minister Arlene Foster revealed there were eight applications in all over 2010/11 and 2011/12 but only five of these received funding.

Whilst Londonderry had more successful applications than Belfast it lagged behind Down (14), Coleraine (10), Armagh (7), Moyle (6) and Newry and Mourne (6).

The Minister provided the details for “successful applications for grant assistance for tourism projects submitted by each Local Council.”

She also stated: “It should be noted that there can be a significant length of time from the receipt of an application to the issue of a grant offer and therefore the successful applications column does not correlate directly with the applications received column.”
