Flag protest in Lurgan

A PROTEST took place in Lurgan last night (Wednesday) in support of a campaign to overturn the decision to remove the Union flag from City Hall for the majority of the year.

A sizeable crowd of protesters gathered in the town centre for a peaceful demonstration to show their objection to the decision taken at Belfast City Council.

A Union flag was erected by some of the demonstrators and was greeted by cheers from the crowd.

Another flag was also put up by members of the crowd outside the Premier Bar in Church Place.
