Flashmob set for city

Lisburn’s Atlas Centre is calling on local people to support and take part in its Flashmob event.

The Lisburn charity which offers a wide variety of free and low cost courses, workshops and information sessions to everyone in the community will stage the spontaneous performance on Saturday August 23 some time between 12noon and 3pm in Bow Street.

People are encouraged to come along and watch or take part and perform random dance act and then disperse.

The Atlas Centre, based on Bachelors Walk is currently holding dance class lessons where people can be taught dance moves.

Classes are being held at the Atlas centre and other venues in Lisburn.

A professional dancer is teaching participants a dance routine which can be seen on the charity’s Facebook page.

Gay Sherry-Bingham, Centre Manager of Atlas explained: “We are currently providing dance lessons for people in the community who want to learn the dance routine for our planned Flashmob.

“All ages, men and women are welcome and it only costs one pound.”

Gay continued: “The Flashmob itself will only last a few minutes and will include dancing to a melody of sings.

“We would encourage as many people as possible to get involved in this fun activity which is designed to get the community interacting.”
