Flavour of Tyrone Food Trial

A food trail showcasing food producers, restaurants, accommodation providers and tourist attractions across the Tyrone region has been developed by Flavour of Tyrone.

Called the Flavour of Tyrone Food Trail, the map will act as a guide and signpost visitors, across the region, to discover a taste of Tyrone.

The trail, which will be officially launched during Tyrone Food Week (18th-23rd February), was developed by Flavour of Tyrone Good Food Circle. The Good Food Circle has 25 members and was created with the aim of enhancing the customer experience through high standard, top quality food using local produce.

The participating restaurants are regularly and rigorously examined to ensure these standards are upheld.

As part of Tyrone Food Week, Flavour of Tyrone and The Good Food Circle will be running offers including 25% off final bill, complimentary drinks with meals and two courses for £7.95. For further details of participating restaurants and offers available during Tyrone Food Week visit www.flavouroftyrone.com

Those involved in the Tyrone Food Trail will have the opportunity, during Tyrone Food Week, to discuss and share best practice at a special workshop hosted in Ranfurly House, Dungannon.

Participants will not only have the opportunity to share ideas but hear from restaurants and coffee shops who are successfully working with, and showcasing local producers in the Tyrone region.

Councillor Phelim Gildernew, Mayor of Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council, said, “Flavour of Tyrone was delighted to work on this fantastic initiative with the Good Food Circle. Great food, accommodation and tourism attractions are nicely packed together to help put us on the Tourism map in the North.

“Without the support of organisations such as Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council, Invest NI, DETI, NITB and Taste of Ulster this and many other projects, would not have existed.

“I would also encourage everyone from the local area to support this initiative, take advantage of offers during food week and help spread the word that Tyrone is indeed packed with great flavours.”

Lisa Williamson, Chair of the Good Food Circle, said, “The Tyrone Food Trail and Flavour of Tyrone Food Week is the accumulation of hard work and commitment between Flavour of Tyrone and The Good Food Circle. We have worked tirelessly over the years to ensure that we are always delivering the highest possible standards in our restaurants alongside using the very best in local produce.
