Floodlighting to be installed at Three Mile Water facility

Funds are set to be released to enable the construction of floodlights as part of the Three Mile Water Park development being organised by Crusaders Football Club.

At the Community Planning and Regeneration Committee meeting on Monday, November 14, members agreed to release £80,000 of the total approved £233,700 contribution to the overall scheme for the purchase and installation of floodlighting.

Tenders for this are currently being advertised and will follow the Central Procurement Directorate Guidelines.

Work is anticipated to be completed by March 2017.

Commenting on the scheme, a spokesperson for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said: “Council is providing a supporting and partnership role on this project which is being led by Crusaders Football Club.

“The money awarded by council is part of the overall scheme which is subject to funding from the Department for Communities.”
