With regard to the ‘Florist of The Year’ competition for which Heather won the bronze medal – she firstly had to enter ‘heats’ to qualify to enter and in these she won through to the final 16 out of a total of 500 entries from throughout the UK.

She then went on to win the bronze medal at Chelsea.

The competition was to design a headdress entirely from plant material; the entry by Heather clearly showed tremendous expertise in planning and design and demonstrated an exceptionally high level of craft skills.

Heather is no stranger in the Ballymena and Antrim Areas. As well as being a member of Ballymena Floral Art Group, she also owns and manages a very successful flower shop in Antrim called ‘Flowery Potters’.
