Football club throwingfundraiser for burgled charity

BALLYMONEY United are throwing a fundraiser for a charity which fell victim to callous thieves recently.

Last week staff at Compass Advocacy Network, Seymour Street told how they were devastated after over £1,000 was taken following a break in at their offices.

The bulk of the cash stolen was money raised for Children in Need by young people who use the charity’s services.

Kerry McCrellis of the charity told the Times: “Gerry McAleese from Ballymoney United said straight away they would do something for us, be it a night at the races or a quiz evening. It was a lovely gesture which is much appreciated.”

A date for the fundraising event has yet to be confirmed.
