For trial on male rape charges

Daniel Patrick Blaney, Charles Street, Portadown, appeared last Thursday at a preliminary enquiry at Craigavon courthouse.

He faces 14 charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a male person, eight charges of indecent assault on a male and six charges of gross indecency with a child.

The offences are alleged to have happened between December 31, 2003, and November 26, 2005.

Blaney was returned in custody to appear for arraignment at Craigavon Crown Court on March 4.

A defence certificate for two counsel was granted.
