Forklift thefts may be linked say police

POLICE in Lisburn are investigating after the theft of two Manitou telescopic forklifts on two separate occasions over recent weeks.

A Manitou 1435 was taken from a site at Glenavy Road, Lisburn on January 16. It’s understood the £26,000 machine was taken shortly before 5pm and was driven away along Tansey Road in the direction of Stoneyford.

The second theft occurred at Knockmore Business Park on the Moira Road sometime between 8pm on February 13 and 8am on February 14. On this occasion a Manitou 170 valued at around £35,000 was taken. It’s believed it was removed on a lorry or low loader. Police are looking into the possibility that the thefts are linked.
