Former lorry driver 
was keen gardener

Hugh had left his wife Margaret to the hospital on the Tuesday evening and had returned home when he took suddenly ill and was rushed back to Craigavon Hospital 
again.

He was the devoted father of Brian, Osbourne, Clifford (Joe), Sharon, Stephen and Lorraine.

Hugh was born in Ballynamagna and grew up in Lisnacroppin, Rathfriland district.

He was employed with Bibby’s in Lisburn as a lorry driver and retired early through ill health. He had reached the age of 84 years.

He followed the fortunes of Nottingham Forest Football Club, and in his early days he enjoyed motorbike racing. He moved from the Knock area in Rathfriland to Iveagh Drive, Banbridge where he and his wife enjoyed their new home. His main interest was centred around his home and family and it is here that his passing will be most greatly 
felt.

Hugh was very keen on his garden and took pride in having it in perfect 
order.

Coming to Banbridge they joined the congregation of Scarva Street Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, four sons Brian, Osbourne, Clifford (Joe) and Stephen, two daughters Mrs Sharon Doran and Mrs Lorraine McGarvey, daughters-in-law Linda, Christine, Helen and Angela, sons-in-law Paul and Liam, 13 grandchildren and six great grand
children.

To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from his home in Iveagh Drive, Banbridge where the Rev Andrew Watson paid a fitting tribute, assisted by Miss Kathleen Spence (Deaconess).

A reading was given by Miss Danielle Bicker
staff.

The interment took place afterwards in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Meningitis Care.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
