Former Lurgan College teacher Derek Edgar passes away

One of Lurgan College’s best known former teachers, Derek Edgar, has passed away.

Mr Edgar died peacefully on Sunday at his home on Belfast Road, Dollingstown.

He was the dearly loved husband of Margaret and brother of Vivien and Mollie.

His Funeral Service takes place in Malcomsons Funeral Home, 7 Robert Street, Lurgan on Tuesday at 1:30pm followed by a private interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

No flowers please.

Known to generations of Lurgan College students as ‘Plumber’, Mr Edgar was held in the highest respect as a teacher who demanded only the best efforts from his students, with a firm emphasis on discipline but fairness.
