Marian Getty, who is taking early retirement, said she was delighted to be able to report such fantastic results before leaving her post.

“For the past few years I feel I have been like a gramophone needle that got stuck in a groove,” she commented. “Each year I have reported on ‘the best ever results in the history of Fort Hill College’, but this year I am saying exactly the same thing. Our current Year 12 students have excelled themselves with over 90 per cent of them achieving a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalencies at grades A*-C. This is totally amazing.”

Mrs Getty continued: “With hard work and determination anything is possible and our students, along with the support of staff and family, are testimony to this. To each and every one of you ‘well done and well deserved’, and thank you for making my final year so positive. I wish you the success you deserve in future years and thank staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their support and loyalty to the students.”
