A TRIBUTE to the late comedy legend Frank Carson has picked up a Bronze award in the Allianz Scarecrow Street competition at the Airtricity Garden Festival.

Speaking about the tribute to his father, Frank’s son Tony Carson commented:

“I am absolutely thrilled that the children of Fort Hill have thought to make a scarecrow of Frank. I have no doubt that his loud and infectious laughter would have scared the crows for miles around.”

The team was also awarded Bronze for their Cat In The Hat scarecrow and a well done for their traditional scarecrow Lizzie.

The scarecrows were in competition with over 20 other colourful characters, which were made by teams of school children from integrated primary schools throughout Northern Ireland.
