Foster congratulates Moore Concrete Products on innovation focus

Moore Concrete Products Limited supplies precast concrete products for the agricultural, civil engineering and construction sectors, ranging from livestock drinking troughs, above ground slurry stores and window sills, to railway arches, bridge parapets and retaining wall systems. It specialises in bespoke, non standard products and has supplied products to major road and rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

The company has invested over £870,000 in new product development and marketing in recent years, supported by Invest Northern Ireland. The new products included an innovative biogas system developed specifically for the agriculture sector in the British Isles, which it now markets under an associated company Moore Biosystems Limited.

Moore Biosystems commissioned the first commercial on-farm anaerobic digestion biogas system in Northern Ireland late last year.

During the visit to the company‘s extensive modern plant on Woodside Road, Arlene Foster said: “In the last three years Moore Concrete Products has benefited from a number of Invest Northern Ireland programmes to help it develop new products, improve operational efficiency, increase skills levels and target new markets.

“As a result the company has strengthened its position in both local and export markets and is continuing to expand its product portfolio and target potential new customers. It has also recognised the value of strategic partnerships and has established manufacturing licences with a number of international companies.”

The Minister added: “Invest NI’s Boosting Business campaign embraces a range of support measures that are designed to address all of the key issues facing businesses, like Moore Concrete Products, that are dealing with a downturn in their target sectors.

“The Boosting Business measures focus on helping businesses to create and protect jobs; to build the skills of their workforce; to use new technology to improve their competitiveness; to create new products and take them to new markets.”
