Fountain mural attacked

AN incident of vandalism took place on a mural in the Fountain in broad daylight recently.

Locals told the Sentinel that at least a dozen youths in their mid teens entered the estate at around 4pm and proceeded to spray a loyalist mural close to Wapping Lane with republican slogans.

Sources in the Fountain also said that just before the incident a group of youths had also been spotted on the Walls above the estate. They were challenged by locals and appeared to leave the area. However, they returned shortly afterwards, possibly through Newgate and sprayed the mural with RIRA and ONH (Oglaigh na hEireann).
