Fountain pupils wear their hearts on their sleeves

PUPILS from the Fountain Primary School wore their hearts on their sleeves during a recent coffee morning to help children with heart disease.

The Fountain Primary School made their own heart shaped badges to wear and baked and decorated their own cupcakes, with all the proceeds in aid of local charity, Children's Heartbeat Trust.

Sarah Quinlan, Executive Officer with Children's Heartbeat Trust said: "Thank you so much to all the pupils and teachers of Fountain Primary School, and everyone who supported their charity day.

"Over 200 children a year are born with heart disease in Northern Ireland and one third of these children will require further investigation and even surgery.

"This support will make a very real difference to the lives of these families and children."

The Children's Heartbeat Trust inc. Heartbeat is an independent charity that works closely with Clark Clinic at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children to help fund top quality medical equipment and initiatives, ensuring that children with heart disease in Northern Ireland receive the best care and treatment possible.
