Four dog attacks in May

TWO people were attacked by dogs in Londonderry in May, whilst there were two reports of attacks on livestock.

A report by the Chief Environmental Health Officer noted 30 instances of straying, three of fouling and nine other offences.

During the month 20 stray dogs were impounded; three were reclaimed; five were unwanted; 11 were sold or rehomed; and 11 were humanely destroyed.

The report to the Council’s Environmental Services Committee also noted that five fixed penalty notices were served and eight health check/neutering vouchers were issued.
