Four in court charged with stealing oil from Garvagh Primary School

Four men have been in court charged with stealing heating oil from Garvagh Primary School.

The men appeared at North Antrim Magistrates Court in Coleraine last Thursday.

All four are charged with stealing a quantity of heating oil, value unknown, from the school on March 12 last year.

Three have Garvagh addresses and one has a Coleraine address.

The accused are: Philip Edward McDonald (26), of Glebeview Park, Garvagh; Stephen Kane (38), Lyttlesdale, Garvagh; Kenneth Ivan Park (53), of Glebeview Park, Garvagh and Kenney Grissam (38), of Ballysally Road, Coleraine.

McDonald, Kane and Park are each further charged with going equipped for theft in that they had a hammer, pair of pliers, wrench, screwdriver for use in burglary.

A prosecutor said she believed she could connect the accused to the charges.

She said she had a large police file on the case and hopes to make a direction on the matter and asked for an adjournment.

The court agreed a date of March 31. No bail conditions were imposed.
