Four rescued off North Coast

Four people have been rescued in two separate rescue operations off the North Coast.

In a three-hour operation, two men were rescued after their fishing boat got into difficulties off Sheep Island at Ballintoy.

A crew member from the vessel was pulled overboard by a wave while trying to retrieve an anchor.

In a second incident, two men in their 20s got caught up in a rip-tide off the West Strand, at about 9.30am on Sunday.

A member of the public called the Coastguard and the Portrush Lifeboat was sent to the scene.

The pair are said to be in a serious condition in hospital.
