Foyle and Londonderry College

Foyle College and Londonderry High School, now Foyle and Londonderry College, have been providing education for young people in the Londonderry area and further afield for over 390 years. This is a Voluntary, Co-educational, Grammar school. The buildings are on two campuses - Junior School (Years 8, 9 and 10) on the Springtown site, and the Senior School (Years 11, 12, 13 and 14) on the Duncreggan site.

The Junior and Senior Schools are both well equipped, enabling staff to adopt the most effective teaching methods. In the Senior School there are nine Science Laboratories plus two Computer Suites, a Technology Suite, Art and Design Suite, Music Suite, Business Studies Suite including Computer Room, Study Hall, Library, Upper Sixth Social Centre, Lower Sixth Social Centre, Sports Hall and twenty-two General Classrooms. Drama and Musical performances take place in the Assembly Hall.

In the Junior School the Library, two IT Suites and Technology Suite are well established while the Science Laboratories have been completely refurbished. Home Economics, Art and Music rooms have been renovated. There are fourteen General Classrooms, a fully equipped Gymnasium and an Assembly Hall.

The school has extensive grounds. On the Duncreggan site there are two all-weather hockey pitches and three tennis courts. At Springtown there are seven rugby pitches, three cricket pitches and a pavilion, two tennis courts, an all-weather hockey pitch and running track. The school currently employs a resident coach for Fencing.

GCSE 93% of students gained 5 A*-C grades.

•1 pupil had all A* grades.

•11 pupils had all A*/A grades.

AS Level had a 95% pass rate.

•14 pupils had 4 A-Grades.

•17 had 3 A-Grades.

A-Level had a 98.4% pass rate.

•7 pupils had 4 A-Grades.

•12 pupils had 3 A-Grades or better.

•2 pupils gained Oxbridge places.
