Foyle Days hailed as great success

THOUSANDS of visitors and families made their way to Queen’s Quay this weekend for this year’s extended Foyle Days Festival which was a hailed a success by organisers.

The festival featured a wealth of maritime activity, a series of exhibitions and displays, boat visits along with the city’s Clipper yacht and crew.

Former Mayor Colum Eastwood said the event successfully showcased the maritime resource of the River Foyle.

“It was great to see so many people taking part in the event. Almost 5,000 people availed of the boat tours and event attendance was particularly positive. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this year’s event another outstanding success”. The festival also welcomed the Londonderry Clipper Yacht to the city along with Olympic Gold Medalist, Sir Steve Redgrave.
