Foyleview pupils visit PSNI station

PUPILS from Foyleview School were VIP visitors at Strand Road police station on July 28 courtesy of Foyle City North Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The Team lined up a tour of the custody cells and communications department followed by a demonstration of some of the equipment used by officers on duty. The pupils also got the chance to try on some of the protective gear and enjoyed sounding the sirens on our police vehicles.

Sergeant Phil Martin explained: "This was a great opportunity for the pupils to get a behind the scenes tour of the station and learn a little more about what police officers do everyday. Getting to know the local community, especially our young people, is really important for us as Neighbourhood Officers and we enjoyed the experience just as much they did."
